Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre, patroness of Cuba, is shown here in gold and yellow — the color most closely tied to Ochún, orisha of love, sweetness, and the rivers, with whom she is syncretized in Santería/Lucumí tradition. Her image recalls the 1612 story of three fishermen who found her floating in the Bay of Nipe during a storm, and she is honored for protection, guidance, and blessings over family and prosperity. This larger 12-inch cast resin statue, shown atop the waves with the fishermen's boat, makes a vivid centerpiece for any altar devoted to her or to Ochún.
